Providing hands-on education for K-12 grade in the Watershed school districts. What is the best way to appreciate and experience our vivid local ecosystems? In these projects students explore and learn about the beautiful landscapes and complex environments of the San Miguel Watershed. Students of the three school districts of the Watershed work with scientists, artists, community leaders, resource managers, and scholars to learn lifelong habits of knowing about and caring for our place and our planet.~ Our curriculum includes~ adventure learning trips, original theater based on local history, and real science applied to the site-based study of fire, water, geology, and wildlife. TI has produced an original Head in the Clouds, Feet in the Desert series of learning materials, including a video that provide an introduction to the San Miguel Watershed, and are aimed at middle school and above. We are producing a booklet and a board game. We do puppet shows, we check out the insects, we wade in the river, we look at the stars!
