Wrap-up
NON-PROFITS

1) Optimize shareable resources.
** Establish internships 
** Housing:  How you gonna get interns when you have nowhere to house them? 
    SUGGESTION:  Establish a central database of available second homes. 

** Non-profits need access to Census data in order to write grants
** Hispanic Growth:  The creation of a separate agency to address Hispanic needs

ENERGY

** The Carbon-Neutral Goal:  Keep a count of B.T.U.s and kilowatt hours used in town.  Try and stay at that level or below.

** Education and Outreach:  What do visitors take away with them?

** Get San Miguel Power back on their message of conservation. 

** Utilize Tax Credits for installing and using solar

** Look into the feasibility of establishing a Biodiesel stop here in town

** Learn from and work with other towns who are already experimenting with alternative energy sharing

FOOD AND WASTE
** Create incentives for ids to learn
** Develop a local Recycle and Compost.  Maybe even a bio-fuel.
** Good food for growing brains---let's get better food into the schools.
** Establish a better communication network between growers and shop owners
** Establish the Community Garden
** Think about Edible Landscaping.  (utilizing already existing landscaping to grow food)
** Become experts in Terracing
** Continue these discussions.  Perhaps monthly at a dinner showcasing local food.

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS
** Educate Visitors
** Buy Local.  Promote buying local,
** Establish an Organization for Lobbying
** Develop a Complimentary Currency
** Think more about "Historical Culture" Tourism 

THE NEXT GENERATION
** Address Affordable Housing problems and Affordable Rents
** Involve young people in more/all aspects of the public sphere
** Establish more Meaningful employment opportunities
** Outreach to teens and the Hispanic community
** Develop a working model for Co-Housing.  Maybe establish a hostel.
** Establish a worker CO-OP to foster ownership

ART and CULTURE
** Speak out on the value of the Arts
** Hire more Art Teachers
** Find a way to make studio space/housing cheaper for working artists
** Look into the feasibility of setting aside a percentage of both public and private construction costs for the Arts

MARKETING
** Establish a Bio-Regional exchange program
** Work to attract the kind of visitors that fit Telluride
** Work to get them to return.
** Educate by example

GOVERNMENT
** More Incentive.  Less regulation.
** More inter-county discussion
** Cooperation in Land Banking a good first step to build from
** A campaign to make Residential development "pay it's own way"

SECURITY AND SAFETY
** A more thurough discussion about priorities and smart planning
** Plan for avalanches and mudslides (unlike the cop shop recently built in a debris flow zone)

MISC
** Make a Non-Profit Directory
** Host more Workshops for business on topics of sustainability
** more outreach to surrounding areas
