Each year the Telluride Institute collaborates with the Town of Telluride to provide an intense week of black bear education during the summer. Festivities include puppet shows, a parade down Main St., and a Black Bear Ball with live bluegrass, food, and talks with local bear experts.
In anticipation of 2008 we are collecting true bear stories to create a map of where these encounters have happened!
For those of you who have a bear story and would like to share, please send us an email or a letter including any photos and details of your encounter. We are interested in where and when it happened, has the same bear returned and what have you done to prevent it from returning.
Please send all bear stories to:
ashley@tellurideinstitute.org
or: TI PO Box 1770 Telluride, CO 81435.
Thanks for sharing!
