TALKING GOURDS POETRY CLUB

FOR POETS & LOVERS OF POETRY

Talking Gourds Poetry Club

The Poetry Club offers membership to poets and lovers of poetry which helps sponsor all the Talking Gourds projects, including the Rella Youth Poetry Awards, the San Miguel County and Western Slope Poet Laureates, the Mycolicious Mycoluscious Mycological Poetry Show, the Chamberlain Awards, and the Fischer Cantor Poetry prizes.  (2020 Mycologial Poetry Show video here.)

Members receive mailings about all Talking Gourds events, free broadsides from each Poetry Club reading, and a preferred shot at participating in online Gourd Circles and in special Talking Gourds programs. Initial membership cost is $25 which guarantees mailing notice. Each subsequent year there is a $10 annual fee to keep one’s membership current.

Note:  meetings normally held at the Telluride Arts office across the street from the Wilkinson Public Library are currently on hold during the pandemic.

BARDIC TRAILS

BARDIC TRAILS REGIONAL POETRY PROGRAM

Join us on the first Tuesday of every month for an online gathering of words, wit, and wisdom. Hosted by Talking Gourds Poetry Club directors Art Goodtimes and Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, each Bardic Trails poetry night will feature an award-winning guest poet sharing their new and exciting work. After the featured poet, we’ll share about a half an hour of “passing the gourd”- a time for attendees to read or quote poetry- your own work or someone else’s, it’s up to you!

GUEST GOURDS TOUR

Poetry Tours Free & Open to the Public

The Guest Gourds Tour is an opportunity for a well known poet to tour our region as a guest of the Talking Gourds Poetry Club. These readings take place intermittently and will be publicized through our monthly mailing list, which goes out to Poetry Club Members.

Talking Gourds programming survives without government grant or subsidy through the generous support of private donors and Club members. There is a one-time fee of $25 to join the Talking Gourds Poetry Club which makes you a full member for a year and gets you on our mailing list for readings, festivals and contests. It also means that you are one of those generous supporters who believes in the importance of the arts on the Western Slope.
