Begins August 6th!
WE WANT YOU TO BE THE FIRST TO KNOW: WE’RE LAUNCHING A STORYTELLING WORKSHOP AS PART OF ROARING STORIES, OUR ANNUAL LIVE STORY EVENING ON CLIMATE CHANGE.
New this year, we’ve created an online workshop for community members to work with master teacher Alya Howe to develop their stories and hone their performance chops, with the possibility of sharing their story at the live event in September.
This year’s theme is “Climate of Love.“
Have you ever fallen in love with a place — the same way you can fall in love with a person — and seen it change before your eyes? Maybe because of climate change? What happened next? We invite you to bring stories of your love affair with the planet: journeys through environmental romance, connection, learning, loss, intimacy, regeneration, activism.
In this class, you will develop a seven-minute story during Roaring Stories’ LIVE WORKSHOP held on Zoom. The weekly sessions will also be recorded for asynchronous learning on your schedule. No experience is necessary.
$120 tuition includes:
• 6 hours of group instruction
• Storytelling curriculum and coaching
• Private Facebook Group learning space
• One-on-one coaching for performers by Alya Howe.
• Scholarships are available. Please apply; no one will be turned away for economic reasons. Registration is $30 with scholarship approval.
You will also have the chance to share your story at the Roaring Stories LIVE PERFORMANCE on September 16 at Rock Bottom Ranch. Performers will receive the full $120 tuition back in gifts from the sponsoring organizations as a reward for sharing your experience!
(The workshop capacity is limited to 28 participants.)
